Itinerary
The 8-Day Safari Adventure Blitz is a high-impact journey through the "Crown Jewels" of Tanzania. Designed for the adventurous traveler who wants to witness the maximum variety of wildlife and landscapes in just over a week, this expedition moves from the lush forests of the Rift Valley to the endless horizons of the Serengeti.
The Experience
This "Blitz" is more than a drive; it is an immersive exploration. You will start with a walking safari to feel the African soil beneath your feet, traverse the "Land of Giants" in Tarangire, and spend three full days in the Serengeti to ensure you witness the thundering Great Migration. The journey culminates in the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural sanctuary where the Big Five are often spotted in a single morning.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Your guide will transfer you to your lodge in Arusha, where you can relax and prepare for the adventure with views of the towering Mount Meru.
Break the "vehicle mold" early with a guided walking safari. Walk among giraffes and buffalo, then take a canoe on the Momella Lakes to see hippos and thousands of flamingos.
Head to Tarangire, famous for its ancient Baobab trees. Spend the day tracking the largest elephant herds in Africa as they congregate along the Tarangire River.
Explore the unique groundwater forest of Manyara. Keep your eyes on the acacia branches for the legendary tree-climbing lions and visit the hippo pool at the edge of the soda lake.
Drive up the Ngorongoro Highlands and drop down into the "Endless Plains." Begin game viewing immediately as you enter the Central Serengeti, a prime habitat for leopards and lions.
A dedicated day to follow the Great Migration. Depending on the season, you will witness the thundering herds of wildebeest or focus on the big cats that trail them.
Enjoy a final sunrise drive in the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Arrive in time for a spectacular sunset over the 600-meter-deep caldera.
Descend into the Crater for a 6-hour "Big Five" safari. This is your best chance to see the Black Rhino. Afterward, drive back to Arusha for your evening flight departure.

It saves you roughly 8 to 10 hours of driving over bumpy roads. The flight takes only about 90 minutes and offers incredible aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and the Serengeti plains.
Yes. This itinerary covers the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the best place in East Africa to see the rare Black Rhino, completing the set alongside Lion, Leopard, Elephant, and Buffalo.
You will typically travel in a 4×4 Safari Jeep (Land Cruiser) with a pop-up roof for 360-degree wildlife viewing, equipped with a fridge for cold drinks and charging sockets for your cameras.
Most nationalities require a visa. You can obtain an e-Visa online in advance or purchase one “on arrival” at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for approximately $50 (USD), though $100 for US citizens.
Tanzania is a malaria-endemic country. We recommend consulting your doctor about profilactic medication. Using repellent and wearing long sleeves during the evenings in Karatu and Serengeti is advised.
Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, beige, green). Avoid dark blue or black as they attract tsetse flies. Bring a warm jacket for early morning game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater, where temperatures can be chilly.
Yes, most 10-day safaris are full-board, including breakfast, picnic lunches during game drives, and multi-course dinners at your lodges or tented camps.
Tipping is a standard practice in the Tanzanian safari industry. A general guideline is $20 to $30 USD per vehicle, per day, usually presented at the end of the safari.
